The exhibition (un)control shows the results of a seminar with architecture students from the University of Innsbruck, Institute for experimental Architecture, Open Studio Hochbau. The seminar examined the scope of control in the act of designing. Designing is understood neither as a top-down nor as a pure bottom-up process, but rather as an act of negotiation between the designer's intention and other forces that are carefully choreographed within the process; in the specific case of the seminar, this is the will to form of a material. From this point of view, designing does not take place as a hierarchical act, but in communication between entities, processes and tools, of which the designer is only one part.
